Lechwerke AG accelerates processes with Send Business Objects (SBO) from enycon

Lechwerke AG is a regional energy provider in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and belongs to the RWE group. For over 110 years, Lechwerke has stood for innovative solutions, shaping the future of energy in the region along with local authorities, citizens and companies.

Lechwerke generate their own electricity by environmentally-friendly means from hydropower as well as photovoltaics, biomass, and cogeneration. Together with its subsidiaries, Lechwerke AG makes up the LEW Group, which has over 1,700 employees and trains over 90 people annually in commercial, industrial and IT occupations.

Email instead of paper

With Send Business Objects (SBO), companies can generate individual or fully automated emails directly from SAP®. They gain in transparency while saving paper, time, and money. Lechwerke AG in Augsburg is using the enycon software as part of a Purchasing project, and plans further implementations.
The commercial area of Lechwerke AG in Augsburg had been looking for a solution that would allow it to send invoices, purchase orders, and other documents in the SAP® system as emails. Among the selected providers, SBO from enycon came out on top as the most economic and mature solution. The implementation in other company areas is currently being tested.
There are many benefits to handling business correspondence by email: Companies not only save printing costs, postage and working time, but at the same time can also document and archive workflows seamlessly and without needing to switch media. The investment in the software and its implementation has therefore paid for itself after a short time.

 

Conveniently sending emails from within SAP®

Send Business Objects (SBO) is a software add-on that enables the convenient sending of emails straight from the application. The user-friendly solution can be put to use immediately with virtually no training effort, and offers many options:
From individual emails to fully automated email transmissions, such as order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices: SBO ensures speedy and problem-free handling of

  • Documents from the SAP® modules MM (Materials Management/Purchasing) and SD/LES (Sales and Distribution, Shipping and Transport)
  • Shop papers from PM (Maintenance), QM (Quality Management), CS (Customer Service) and BC (Spool Forms)
  • Correspondence in Financial Accounting (FI).

 

Integration, maintenance and support

The add-on and its predefined business add-ins (BAdIs) were able to be integrated into our SAP® ERP system without modification, and adjusted to meet our specific requirements. The basic version and the regular releases are delivered in standardized transports as part of software maintenance, meaning that updating was no problem.

During the installation of SBO into the SAP® target systems, during customizing and with general training requirements, we were supported by a dedicated contact person. The roles and authorizations that control access rights were adapted to meet our company guidelines exactly.

Thanks to the experienced roll-out by enycon, the implementation of SBO into our SAP® system went completely smoothly: From the first discussion to the go-live, we only invested about 20 hours. We were impressed by the effective and cost-saving process improvement; that’s why we want to proceed with further development along with enycon.
